Rainy Summer Days

Usually I'm not fond of rainy days. But living here, it's actually a really nice break from the heat. And it's still warm enough that the kids can go out and play in the rain. Fun! :o)

I love that picture of the kids! It almost seems like something they would sell in black and white somewhere.

Beth, there you go! :D Our little camera has this burst feature, where it'll take 3 pictures per second if you keep the button pushed. I use it sometimes, and every so often it gives me a really nice shot. :o)

I wish we could get some rain here. We took a drive to Garden City today, and the canyon was all brown and dreary. We need some rain really bad here. :(

My mom took a picture very similar to this 25 years ago of my sister and I playing in the warm rain in San Antonio. Warm rain is a beautiful, delightful thing.

The first summer we moved here, we had a rain storm that was coming down so hard for so long that I decided to wash the cars in it. I got both cars completely scrubbed (and of course, rinsed), and had a great time doing it. The rain was so warm that it felt like I was in the shower. I've never been so wet in my life, and had to literally peel the clothes off my body afterwards. So fun.
