Garden mid-August

It's been about a month since my watermelon seedlings came up. Here they are now. Note it's been less than three weeks since the last pictures! There are now three plants in the middle (instead of five), and one more came up in the corner that I just left there. The tomato plants are growing, too. As are the weeds around the edges. They have pretty little yellow flowers, so as long as they're not interfering with my garden plants, I'm letting them grow. :p

Last but not least, anyone know what this might be?

The last looks like something we often pulled up in Texas. Maybe a weed.

I'm proud of you for moving and still getting your garden in. I didn't manage one this summer, and we have a nice long growing season just like you.

STM, a weed, huh? Well, I'll let it grow until it's time to put in the peas. Maybe it'll turn out to be a pretty flower or something. :p

K, let's just say if it wasn't for my parents fixing up the garden bed, I don't think it would have happened. And the watermelons just came up on their own. So really, not much effort on my part, lol. :D

Hi-

That last one is most likely a weed. I've pulled a bunch like that out of my garden before (and the lawn, and the flower beds!) In NH, I planted a kidney bean to see what would happen. We had a lovely plant that I totally cared for. It grew to be about 3 feet high until I finally realized it was a bushy weed and not a bean in sight!
