Yes, we made it!

Sorry for the lack of posting, life has been a bit crazy lately. Our movers came at 9 a.m. on the 23rd, and it took them a whooping 7 hours to load up our little apartment. And the stuff had already been all packed the previous day! Yeah, it was slow. Needless to say, we left a lot later that afternoon than we had hoped. Fortunately, we had some awesome neighbors who helped us clean up, so we actually were able to leave before midnight! We drove to Green River, UT that night, and then on to ABQ on Saturday. That's where we stayed with Dave's sister and her family for a couple of days, which was tons of fun. Their little girl Madde and Kaylee just hit it off, it was fun to see them play so well together. Tuesday, we got back on the road, and made it to Wichita Falls, TX. We drove through a big thunderstorm, which was exciting. It ended up catching up with us, so we got to experience it twice. :p Wednesday, we finished up our trip down here. Thursday was spent with some shopping and lots of phone calls to get last minute details ready for the house closing. Friday afternoon, we got our keys! We went to check out the house, and sadly some of the landscaping didn't look as nice as it did when we first saw the house. I don't know if things didn't get watered or what, but we'll probably have to remove some dead little trees and shrubs soon. I did figure out how to turn on the sprinkler system, so things have been getting watered, hopefully some stuff will come back. There is a little lemon tree with some little lemons on it, which is exciting. The grapevine didn't look so great, though. We also have a little pear tree, but it's still too young for fruit. Maybe in a couple of years. Then there's a raised garden bed, which will have to be weeded and fixed up a bit, but I'm hoping to get it ready for Fall planting. Exciting times! Oh, and the lawn needs to be mowed badly. We're actually considering hiring someone to do it for the next few weeks, while we get all of our lawn equipment etc. Don't wanna get in trouble with the HOA. :p The kids are totally loving the house. Kaylee already proclaimed that she's going to sleep in her own room, we'll see how that goes. They're also excited about the big trampoline in the back yard. Overall, we're very pleased with the house, and how everything has worked out over this past month. After all the excitement, we're just glad to be here now. We're still staying at the hotel, which is nice with hot breakfast every morning. I'm getting spoiled, haha. Tomorrow, all of our stuff should get here and moved into the house. We're also going to get our new fridge delivered tomorrow. It's going to be another busy day. Tuesday, we're going to officially move in. Whew!

So there, that's what we've been up to. I do have some pictures from our trip down, so stay tuned. :o)

So glad to hear you made it! Exciting times! You know, we've actually been to Wichita Falls a few times - for military training. So it was kinda fun to hear you stopped there. I hope all your kids adjust well! Our little princess has been refusing to go to Sunbeams - screams at the top of her little lungs - quite exciting if i do say so myself. So, what are you wanting to plnt for fall? Let me know when you're up for visitors! :)

Congratulations on the big move! This is so neat that you have fruit trees. I've always wanted to grow citrus. You're kids could put on the best lemonade stand ever!

I'm so glad to hear you are here. (That's exciting to say!) Sounds like things were busy the days of moving out in Logan. I hope the moving in goes smooth tomorrow. We found a great book to help with the gardening here. It's called "Central Texas Gardening". I bet you're thinking, "but we aren't in Central Texas...". The book is so popular that they have revised a couple of times and the most recent version has Dallas and Houston areas included. Just FYI. We're hoping to come to the temple in Houston in the early fall so maybe we could drive another hour to see you guys. Can't wait to see pictures!

Glad you made it! Moving is always a little hairy, even when things go exactly as planned. Are you finding everything you need in those boxes the movers packed? What do you think of the humidity? Blech (in my humble opinion)!

Doreen, you guys came to Albuquerque and didn't call us!!! I know it would have helped if you knew our phone number, lol. Glad to hear you made it safely. Moving is so much work. Nathan says give Dave a hard time for not seeing us over the holiday weekend.

It sounds great. You know, the wonderful thing about gardening in Texas is that if you are willing to sweat, stuff will grow. And grow. And grow. Things really are bigger in Texas. The year we moved, we had an 8 foot tall tomato plant. Now, if you can just keep the critters from eating the harvest . . . .

Glad to hear you got there safe and sound! I can't wait to see pictures of your new "home" all lived in! Isn't that exciting? A place you can actually call home and know that it's not a temporary thing. :)
