Scrapbook Mania!

Close To My Heart, the company I get most of my scrapbooking supplies from (my friend is a consultant), is having a huge warehouse sale. Today was the first day, so my friend and I drove down for it. Wow, do they ever have a lot of stuff there. I got three albums, lots of paper, lots of stamp pads and ink pens, and a few accessories. A whole box full of stuff for $100 (the stuff is worth $530). What a deal! Now I'll just have to find a place to put everything... :p

One month...

It's been one month since I started WW. I've lost 8.5 pounds so far! And I really don't even feel like I'm on a diet. I still eat my normal foods, just smaller portions. I think the biggest difference has been being accountable for snacking. I used to just snack all day, and now that I have to record it and count it toward my daily allowance, I'm a lot more careful. I still allow myself treats, but I don't just stuff my face anymore. I feel so much better! Now if only I could get back into my exercise routine and get back in shape... I suppose that could be my goal for this next month. :p

As for Belen, she's doing great without her trach! Cute as ever, with a much louder voice now. :o)

Decannulation!!!

Today is a big day for little Belen. She got her trach tube out! They did a little surgery to remove some scar tissue, and now she just has tape over her stoma. It should hopefully heal up on its own. She has to spend the night at the hospital for observation, and to see how her cpap is working with the opening. She'll hopefully be able to come home tomorrow! I have my friend's other two kids for the day, much to my own kids' delight. They're all good friends, and since we're suffering from another inversion and can't go outside because the air quality is so bad, it's nice to have someone over to play. :o)

In other good news, after 3 weeks on Weight Watchers, I have lost 5.5 pounds! I feel like I'm making much better eating choices. I don't snack nearly as much as I used to. I still allow myself treats, but I don't binge on chocolate anymore. It's nice to see results so quickly, yet at a healthy pace. :o)
