My, how time flies... Dave made it back home safely, and had fun at the conference. Life has been busy. Tyler is liking school so far, so that's good. He seems to be making the switch to all day school just fine, not too tired yet. :p Bryan, Kaylee and I have been busy running errands. It seems like there's always something to do, and they have been troopers tagging along. I went and signed up for ice skating classes for myself. My friend and I are going to go every Saturday for six weeks. It should be fun! I've also started exercising. I got a student spouse card, so I can use the facilities here on campus. They have very nice equipment, and the weight machines all come with info on which muscles they target, and how to use them right. My arms and chest are pretty sore, which is a good sign, haha. I should take a picture of myself right now, and then one in like 3 months. Just to see the difference. :p I'm hoping to lose about 10 pounds, so wish me luck! :o)

...until Dave gets back. Just got off the phone, and it sounds like he had a good day. He got to see lots of "old" friends, which was fun for him. We had a good day here, too. Tyler enjoyed his first day at school, though of course they didn't do much other than play games to get to know each other, haha. The real fun begins next week, we'll see if he still likes it then. :p Bryan, Kaylee and I went to playgroup this morning, which was good. Kaylee is so adventurous, she climbs up jungle gyms and what not at the playground like you wouldn't believe. I can't believe how strong and coordinated she is. What happened to my baby??? She's sure growing up. This evening we had our neighborhood bbq, which had a really good turnout. It was lots of fun. By the time the kids got to bed at 8, they were all exhausted, and it didn't take long for them to fall asleep. Now I'm exhausted, too, so I'm off to bed. Hoping Kaylee is going to have a better night tonight, she's been waking up a lot lately. Yawn...

And it wasn't so bad. Talked to Dave on the phone a couple of times, and it sounds like his presentation went really well. It's so nice that it's not just over with, but he actually felt good about it. He's such a perfectionist, and tends to worry and stress out a lot. So it's nice when thinks work out for him. :o) The kids and I had a busy day, too. We went to the library this morning, which is always an adventure. Kaylee kept us busy chasing her around, she loves all the aisles she can run down and "hide". Yeah, it was fun. :p In the evening we had Tyler's back to school night. It was so-so. I've been playing around with the idea of homeschooling for a little over a year now, but so far Dave hasn't been too supportive. When we met Tyler's Kindergarten teacher last year, I knew it would be okay for him to go. I guess I was looking for the same kind of "confirmation" this time around, but I didn't quite get it. For some reason, I just didn't get the same "it's gonna be okay, he's gonna have fun and learn" feeling. Maybe it was because I had all three kids by myself, and felt stressed out. The first half hour of back to school night, everyone was all cramped in the cafeteria. It was hot and pretty loud, as the principal was talking about who knows what (yeah, I have a hard time paying attention when I feel annoyed with my surroundings). Bryan kept asking if we were done yet, and Kaylee kept trying to get off my back (I had her in the sling on my back, so as to avoid having to chase her all over the school). She usually enjoys being on my back, but since we were just standing in one place, she was getting a bit fussy. After half an hour, we finally got to go back to the classroom. Walking in, I immediately noticed how dark it was. No natural light. The only light was from those neon lights. I hate hate hate those. We have them in our apartment, too (thanks to student housing), and I try to avoid having them on at all costs. I hate the light they give off. Anyway, so that's all the lighting they have, and for some reason, I don't feel it's very conducive to learning. Looking around the classroom, it looked very organized. Lots of well used books, and a lot of boxes containing different math manipulatives. Usually, I'd love a classroom like that, but the set-up didn't appeal to me at all. The children sit in two rows, which I'm not used to seeing in a first grade classroom. All K and 1st grade classrooms I've been in had their kids arranged in groups, which I liked much better for the age. Anyway, long story short, I just really didn't feel comfortable there. I told Dave as much. We've now agreed to just take it a week at a time, and see how Tyler is doing. Come October parent teacher conferences, we'll talk about switching to homeschooling if we feel it would be the better option. So we'll see...

...till Thursday night. Dave went to a conference in Colorado today. His big presentation is tomorrow. I'm glad this is finally going to be over with, he's been spending a lot of time getting ready for it. It'll be nice to hopefully have things settle down a bit after Thursday. Sad thing is, tomorrow is back to school night for Tyler, and I get to take all three kids with me. Yay for me! :p Oh well, it isn't the first conference, and it won't be the last, I'm sure. We'll be okay. Though I sure don't enjoy all the extra housework I have to do that Dave usually helps out with. Specifically cleaning the kitchen, haha. :p Off to do that now...

The boys had swimming lessons all week, and finished today. They had a really fun time, and are making good progress. Kaylee has been busy learning lots of new words, it's fun to watch her learn how to talk now. :o) I got to go to a cardmaking club on Wednesday, which was lots of fun. I'm not very creative, so this was perfect for me. You are given all the supplies you need, and examples of what the cards should look like. So all you have to do is put everything together. I can do that... :p I'm also planning my first Usborne Books party, I'll be hosting it for my friend. I love love love Usborn books, so I thought I'd make the effort and invite some people for a show. We'll see how that goes...
Here's some pictures of the boys swimming today.

Kaylee, that is. We finally decided that it was time to move her out of the family bed and into a big girl bed. The boys got a bunk bed, and Kaylee a twin bed in their room. It's been working out really well so far, and everyone has been getting lots of good sleep. :o) Kaylee thinks she's so big, and loves her new bed. The boys, of course, love the bunk. Yay! I do sometimes miss having her next to me at night, it's too cute when she rolls over to snuggle. But it's nice to have my own space back, and I do bring her in when she wakes up for her nursies at around 6 a.m. :o)

...to my blog friends to let you know I'm still alive, hehe. Live has been busy busy busy. Dave had a big paper due on Monday, for a conference he's going to at the end of the month. So he wasn't around much at all last week. In my boredom, I watched Monk (which I love) on Friday night, and decided to stay up to watch Psych, as well. Loved it! It was hilarious! I may have to stay up every Friday night now, haha. The kids have been keeping me busy, too. It never gets boring with three little ones around. Tyler and Bryan started swimming lessons again this week, and love it. :o) Yesterday, we went to the library to get the boys signed up for the last couple of weeks of the summer reading program. I got "Dark Assassin" by Anne Perry, her latest book. I'm already done with it, it was really good. Now I can't wait for her next book to come out. :p Today I made fresh salsa. Someone from the neighborhood dropped off a huge bag of tomatoes for all us "apartment dwellers" a couple of days ago, and they are soooo yummy! They all were really ripe, though, so we had to use them up quickly. So I decided to try making salsa. I think it turned out really good. Mmmmhhhhh. We're having enchiladas for dinner today, and the salsa should be perfect with those. Yum... Did I make your mouth water yet??? Hehe. Well, I gotta run, clean up the kitchen a bit so we can actually have a clean spot to sit down and eat. Did I mention keeping my house clean was not one of my strengths???? :p

A friend of mine just had her first baby a couple of weeks ago. She was very set on wanting a natural childbirth, so I had given her my hypnobabies stuff, and while she didn't get through the whole course in time, she said it still helped a ton. She also had a doula, who she said was absolutely wonderful. She did have a pretty long labor (close to 24 hours), and she said she was in some pain, but she said the whole experience was totally amazing. I'm so glad things went to well for her. :o)

So we were just finishing dinner, and having watermelon. Bryan says he doesn't like it, so I tell him that watermelon is good for you. It helps your body grow big and strong. Bryan promptly turns around, moons us, and says "See, my potty already is big and strong." Needless to say, I almost choked on my watermelon I had to laugh so hard... :o)
